They say there’s only a small percentage of fly anglers that catch all the fish and we like to say that’s not true, but when you see the fish that Postfly Ambassador Knox Kronenberg puts up on his Instagram account @kkronenberg2 he might be the guy that proves that rule. We couldn’t be prouder to have Kronenberg on the team and we can’t wait to see what he catches next. Postfly: What got you into fly fishing in the first place?
Knox Kronenberg: I was introduced to fly fishing by my father. Every year we go to Colorado and we would always spend a day fly fishing. When I was younger I never understood why someone would want to fly fish when you could catch more fish when you spin fished. It was until middle school for me when I fell in love with fly fishing and have not looked back ever sense.
PFB: What does it mean to you to be called an ambassador to the sport?
KK: It is a huge accomplishment if mine to be considered and ambassador of the sport and one of the goals I have set for myself from the very beginning and now that I have the title its almost surreal.
PFB: What’s your favorite fish to chase on the fly?
KK: My favorite fish to chase on the fly? This is a very hard question for me to answer because I love to catch all fish on fly however my favorite fish on fly would have to be tarpon because of the amazing places you can go to catch them and the amazing fight they present you. I also love to catch tarpon because they are so damn hard to land because it’s like setting the hook into a freight train.
PFB: What’s the coolest trip you’ve taken this season? (So far)
KK: The coolest trip I have taken this year has to be the road trip I took with two of my buddies around Colorado for two weeks. We caught hundreds of fish and had an incredible time growing as friends and ambassadors in the amazing sport that we love.
PFB: What’s your next adventure?
KK: My next trip is still undecided but there are some projects that are in the works that should be pretty incredible but I can’t tell you where quite yet. You will just have to follow along on social media to see where we go next.
