The question of whether or not to bring your significant other out on the water, or into the field with you, is one that we have all debated from time to time. I am lucky to have a girlfriend whose love for the natural world has made her an eager student and participant in my adventures, which I understand is not the case in every relationship. That being said, we all know that there is no better form of bonding than a day spent in the elements, and for that reason I highly suggest introducing your loved ones to your passions whenever possible. Of course there is always room for the boys trips, and it’s good to do things separately from your significant other on a regular basis, but give fishing with your girlfriend or boyfriend a shot sometime – you just might dig it.
