Upcycle Your Monthly Postfly Fly Box Into a Fly Box – DIY Video

What you need:

  • A Postfly Box
  • 7mm craft foam (You can pick this up at any craft store)
  • Pair of Scissors
  • Paracord
  • Superglue
  • X-Acto Knife/Razor
  • Lighter to singe ends of paracord

Steps:

  1. Lay foam over the top of your open Postfly Box and cut craft foam to fit the interior. Leave a small gap on the short edge of the foam to allow the box flaps to close fully
  2. Use a razor or X-Acto knife to cut shallow slits in the foam so your flies nest easily
  3. Apply super glue to back-side (the side with no slits) of the foam
  4. Create 2 holes on the front side of your postfly box, big enough to fit your strand of paracord through
  5. Line up the holes you just created on the front flap of the box and cut a section out wide enough for your paracord strap
  6. Take out your paracord and cut it to your desired strap length
  7. Feed one end through the hole you made in step 4 and tie an overhand knot at the end to prevent the cord from pulling through, repeat on the other end
  8. Follow the instructions in the video (12:45) to create the braided cord handle
  9. Viola! You have a kick-ass little DIY fly box built from your monthly Postfly Box

We love seeing what our Tribe Members create using our boxes! This little tutorial from Tribe Member Anthony Horn is a great way to upcycle your box and create less waste.
